What is the Military Really For?  

The below is an extraordinary document by Major General Smedley Butler (United States Marine Corps.) which exposes the real purpose of War.  He wrote it in 1933, and from what we see in the article following, "Economic Hitmen and the Global Corporatocracy" of June 2007 by John Perkins, the same forces are at work now only bigger, more consolidated and way more organized.  The (only) fortunate part about the passage of time is that we can not only see the patterns that repeat with the mergence of governments and corporations, but also to see the real enemy to Humankind and the Planet is War itself. 

The immense loss of life, the tragedies, the heartaches and the maiming physically, mentally and emotionally of people (and their families) decade after decade after decade need not occur.  War is a Racket and should be recognized as such.  When the truth is known, would people then be willing to die for War, just for war's sake?  With the capability and force of now wrecking whole nations and their civilizations as is now happening in Iraq, do we really want to put up with a structure that can and will essentially doom us all?  Like a response to an errant behavior or an addiction of great magnitude an INTERVENTION is needed to STOP the reckless behavior on the Planet and to stop the consequences it holds for us all and to those it destroys on a human level. Without that response, we too, as we see in the Hall of Shame articles below, and An Institutionalized Global System that Incorporates Mass Murder that is now in the making by planners in the Military, we too will be consumed by those who have thrown away their souls in more ways than one.  It is indeed time now to transcend the false limits and world of our nationalities and unite as One Humanity for the preservation of our World Soul before we too become accustomed to institutionalized mass murder and lose that thing that makes us human:  warmth and caring (between fellow Man).

Planetization thought structure was born to build our collective Soul back into the world where War and all its causes have now been finished.  It's our choice now.

After his retirement General Butler wrote a book WAR IS A RACKET, which started as follows:

I helped make Mexico, especially Tampico, safe for American oil interests in 1914. I helped make Haiti and Cuba a decent place for the National City Bank boys to collect revenues in. I helped in the raping of half a dozen Central American republics for the benefits of Wall Street. The record of racketeering is long. I helped purify Nicaragua for the international banking house of Brown Brothers in 1909-1912 (where have I heard that name before?). I brought light to the Dominican Republic for American sugar interests in 1916. In China I helped to see to it that Standard Oil went its way unmolested. During those years, I had, as the boys in the back room would say, a swell racket. Looking back on it, I feel that I could have given Al Capone a few hints. The best he could do was to operate his racket in three districts. I operated on three continents.
